The Continuum of Blessings
Throughout Many Lifetimes

It is with great joy, gratitude, and honor that we share this letter from H.E. Garchen Rinpoche who writes of his and Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche’s connected enlightened activities throughout previous lifetimes. May this continuum of blessings be of vast benefit to all!

A Letter from H.E. Garchen Rinpoche

“Drubnye Tengye, a direct disciple of the previous Garchen Rinpoche, Trinley Yongkyab, founded the Jangchub retreat center at the Nyom mountain hermitage. He requested the previous Garchen Rinpoche to compose the sadhana of Noble Lady White Tara, the Wish-fulfilling Wheel. He is also my root guru, and I have received many important Dharma transmissions, including the refuge vows.

Through my practice of Tara, I have experienced many auspicious signs of her blessings. For this reason, I built a White Tara mandala stupa based on my vision, at the Garchen Buddhist Institute in Arizona, which I believe has greatly benefited countless disciples worldwide.

Through the continuum of these blessings, Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche is now building many Tara stupas in various places, thus upholding the lineage of his previous emanation, Drubnye Tengye’s name and enlightened intent. In this way, he guides countless sentient beings on the path of great benefit and happiness. I make auspicious prayers that their minds will turn to the Dharma; the Dharma will become the path; the path will be free from delusion; and delusion will dawn as wisdom.”

~ H.E. Garchen Rinpoche

Lama Drubnye Tengye

Lama Drubnye Tengye was a great teacher who had the greatest faith and who also conferred any empowerment or transmission asked of him. Garchen Rinpoche has told this story of Lama Drubnye Tengye in the past: “When I was very young, before I received this title, I came into his presence as a child, and got the refuge vow. When he clipped my hair, which is in the movie of my life story, before I got my name, the other monks present said, ‘we have another monk,’ but he said, ‘he won’t stay a normal monk’ and so on as you can see in the movie. There are many precious stories about him. He was the one from whom I got this empowerment when I was very young. When receiving empowerment and refuge, he gave me my name, Konchog Gyaltsen, while I was in my mother’s lap.”

Upholding the Lineage and Continuum of the Tara Teaching & Practice Blessings

We join H.E. Garchen Rinpoche in his auspicious prayers as Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche upholds this lineage and continuum of the Tara teaching and practice blessings through his previous emanation, Drubnye Tengye, who received these Tara blessings from the previous Garchen Rinpoche. May these enlightened activities benefit all beings without exception!
