Understand Your Own True Nature: Vajrayogini

The practice of Vajrayogini is a profound, powerful means to achieve a deeper understanding of the true nature of phenomena. Her unique appearance, ornaments and implements symbolize various aspects of achieving the wisdom mind, including cutting through afflictive emotions and discursive thoughts as we gain insight into our ultimate nature.  

Vajrayogini represents the wisdom nature of mind and she appears in many forms, including Achi Chokyi Drolma, our tradition’s protectress. Her practice is taught to be a quick method of attaining enlightenment for the benefit of others. Achi Chokyi Drolma is the protectoress of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and grandmother of its founder, Lord Jigten Sumgon. Her birth was prophesized in the Chakrasamvara tantra which stated, “The head of the Karma Dakinis will come to the area of Tidro cave in Drikung. This will be a Nirmanakaya manifestation of Vajrayogini.” She vowed to protect the teachings of the Buddha and swiftly accomplishes the removal of obstacles for practitioners. 

Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche will be offering teachings and practice instructions for this popular tantric practice that is one of the principal practices to be completed during 3-year retreats.

Retreat Fee: $25 per day $40 for weekend
Students: $12 per day $20 for weekend
