Let’s meet at Gar Drolma Buddhist Temple in Dayton to receive this auspicious empowerment and profound teachings of Green Tara and the Twenty-one Taras from our dear Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche..
Green Tara is known for swiftly coming to the aid of those who beseech her when facing difficult circumstances. Ultimately, she liberates us from samsara so that all our fears are eliminated.
She is especially associated with overcoming the Eight Great Fears that have both a physical & mental aspect such as fire/anger, and also inspired Lord Jigten Sumgon’s “Seven Verses of Supplication to Tara” that we recite.
In the traditionally popular “Praise to 21 Taras”, each verse explains the protective activities or qualities of different Tara manifestations, and can be used for daily practice to help eliminate our defilements.

This picture is from the Tara temple in Pharping, Nepal. The Tara statue is “self arisen” as it manifested from the solid rock. The temple is located underneath the Asura cave, where Guru Rinpoche attained enlightenment. Khenpo has taken many pilgrimages to this location.
