Shamata Meditation Practice Retreat
This retreat will be focused on intensive practice of the fundamental meditation techniques of Shamata (calm abiding) meditation. You will learn a number of simple techniques to gradually bring the mind to rest on a single object. This prepares the mind for deity practices and brings a host of benefits to daily life.
Khenpo Samdup will offer basic meditation instructions at the outset of the retreat. During the retreat there will be minimal teaching, with most sessions dedicated to practice. Participants will be able to consult with Khenpo Samdup on an individual basis to ask questions and receive personalized guidance. Basic accommodations in the temple will be available on a limited basis. Simple vegetarian meals will be provided.
