Establishing the Buddhist Sangha in the West

Celebration Potluck for Our New Monastics

Friday, October 30th · 6:00 pm EDT
Location: Gar Drolma Buddhist Center
For those attending in person at Gar Drolma

Please join us for a celebration!

Earlier in the day, in a private ceremony, a group of Buddhist practitioners will receive monastic vows from Khenchen Konchog Gyaltsen Rinpoche and Venerable Khenpo Chophel, along with other venerable monks. This evening, we’ll gather as a Sangha to rejoice in this deeply meaningful occasion and welcome our new monastics.

Bring your favorite main dish, appetizer, salad, or dessert to share.

Please message info@gardrolma.org to let us know what you’re bringing so we can be sure to have a nice variety.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you.

May this joyful gathering be a source of blessings for all! 🙏

For more than 2,500 years, the teachings of the Buddha have been preserved and transmitted through the devoted lives of monks and nuns. Now we have the aspiration to establish this precious tradition firmly in the West, so that it may flourish and benefit generations to come.

May the Sangha flourish.
May the Three Jewels shine brightly for generations to come.
May this noble aspiration become a cause for immeasurable benefit to all sentient beings.

With pure aspiration and prayers,
Tashi Delek. 🙏
