“The prayer wheel is extremely beneficial, especially at the time of death. When we die, the prayer wheel can be placed on the top of the head at the crown. Then at the time of death, our consciousness can be liberated. The prayer wheel is the same as the embodiment of Chenrezig, and even without Phowa we can liberate. That is the reason that the prayer wheel is a very powerful and easy practice and is of immense benefit for the person.
This is the reason I always share this teaching on the benefit of the prayer wheel and offer this instruction for people to do at the time of death. Thank you Sangha!”

HE Garchen Rinpoche generously offered his prayer wheel as a gift for raising funds for the Shravasti 45 day Summer Retreat that will provide all meals for 108 Monastics. Rinpoche has been spinning this prayer wheel at the Garchen Buddhist Institute benefiting beings for the past four years. May the merit of this gift be boundless!
