SUMMARY:Summer Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Mahamudra / Dzogchen Commitment Retreat\n\n\n\n (Schedule TBA) \n\n\n\nRural Retreat in a unique outdoor location in Loveland\, OH \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease join a gathering of the international sangha for an in-depth commitment retreat at a unique outdoor location in Loveland\, Ohio as Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche presents two classic texts from both the Mahamudra and Dzogchen traditions. • A Mahamudra Investigation into Confusion. This text captures the profound teachings Lord Jigten Sumgon offered Khenpo Zodpa about how confusion arises that leads to our Samsaric state and how we can overcome it. \n\n\n\n• Garab Dorje’s Striking the Vital Essence in Three Words. Garab Dorje is recognized as the first human teacher of the Ati Yoga Dzogchen or Great Perfection teachings. As he ascended into Parinirvana\, he offered a golden casket containing this precious teaching to Manjushrimitra. \n\n\n\nIMPORTANT!  This is a Commitment Retreat. Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche requests that those who attend commit to attending the entire retreat. This ensures you receive the maximum benefit from these precious\, rarely-bestowed\, high-level teachings. It is said that not fulfilling a commitment can create obstacles to receiving these teachings in the future.Teachings will be held under an open tent and at a simple meditation cabin. Walking on trails required to access the teachings. This retreat offers the International Sangha an opportunity to come together at a beautiful wooded location for a unique\, in-depth retreat experience. It is an inspirational\, rustic setting that features a waterfall. This has been the site of many Achi Smoke offerings and previous Dharma teachings\, including those by H.E. Garchen Rinpoche.Limited primitive camping sites and outdoor facilities will be available. This is a rustic retreat with outdoor camping in a rural setting. Hayes \nThe transformation that occurs when the afflictive emotions are subdued with sharp discriminating awareness is the arising of the wrathful deities…The wrathful deities are infuriated with compassion. They are not angry. They are like a mother taming a mischievous child…Their compassion is even more intense than the compassion of peaceful deities.\n– H. E. Garchen Rinpoche \nSchedule:\nFriday February 14 : Vajrasattva Empowerment\n‌7:00 – 9pm‌ \nVajrasattva is the Buddha of Purification. He embodies the wisdom of the five Dhyani buddhas and our own kind gurus. Vajrakilaya is his wrathful emanation. The practice of Vajrasattva and 100\,000 recitations of his 100-syllable mantra is one of our four foundation practices.  The 100 syllables of his mantra encompass the heart syllables of the 100 Peaceful & Wrathful Deities and the practice of Vajrasattva enables the realization of our full spiritual potential by purifying our negative karma.   \nVajrasattva is radiant white in color. His right hand holds a dorje (or vajra) at his heart which symbolizes his skillful means and compassion. His left holds a bell at his hip signifying wisdom. This path also provides methods you can practice in your daily life\, including transforming negative circumstances into insights that lead to wisdom and taking on the suffering of others through the practice of Tonglen.

SUMMARY:Understand Your Own True Nature: Vajrayogini
DESCRIPTION:Understand Your Own True Nature: Vajrayogini\nThe practice of Vajrayogini is a profound\, powerful means to achieve a deeper understanding of the true nature of phenomena. Her unique appearance\, ornaments and implements symbolize various aspects of achieving the wisdom mind\, including cutting through afflictive emotions and discursive thoughts as we gain insight into our ultimate nature.   \nVajrayogini represents the wisdom nature of mind and she appears in many forms\, including Achi Chokyi Drolma\, our tradition’s protectress. This will be a Nirmanakaya manifestation of Vajrayogini.” She vowed to protect the teachings of the Buddha and swiftly accomplishes the removal of obstacles for practitioners.  \nKhenpo Samdup Rinpoche will be offering teachings and practice instructions for this popular tantric practice that is one of the principal practices to be completed during 3-year retreats. \nSchedule \nFriday\, March 29\, 7:00 – 9:00pm\nAchi Chokyi Drolma Empowerment\nSaturday\, March 30\, 10:00-noon  Lunch 12:00-1:30*\, 1:30-4:30pm\nVajrayogini Teachings & Practice\nSunday\, March 31\, 10:00-noon  Lunch 12:00-1:30*\, 1:30-4:30pm\nVajrayogini Teachings & Practice\n*Lunch is included and will be served in the lower level.
