SUMMARY:Book Discussion following Phowa Practice
DESCRIPTION:We will be discussing Mind Beyond Death by Dzogchen Ponlop after our monthly Phowa practice to gain deeper insight into the human experience at death and beyond. Our mo‌n‌t‌h‌ly Great Drikung Phowa Chenmo practice will continue every ‌th‌ir‌d S‌un‌‌day from no‌on—1:00 p.m‌. with the book discussion running from 1‌:00—2‌:00 p.m.‌ \nKhenpo Samdup Rinpoche has requested that only those who have received the Phowa transmission from a teacher attend this special practice. However\, the book discussion is open to all who wish to attend. Mind Beyond Death will be available in our bookstore. \n  \nOptions for those who have not yet received the Phowa transmission. \nThis popular practice helps assure a more positive rebirth\, or possibly even attainment of Amitabha Pureland\, at the time of death. If you are interested in this practice\, but do not have the transmission yet\, here’s what you can do now: \n\nContact us at info@gardrolma.org to meet with Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche to receive the instructions when possible or sign up for the next Phowa retreat held at Gar Drolma. You will be notified when it occurs.\nAttend our monthly Amitabha practice ‌the first S‌un‌day ‌of every month from no‌on—1:‌00 p.m‌.\nSubmit names to be added to our book of those remembered at our monthly Amitabha & Phowa practices. Merit of these practices will be dedicated in their honor.

SUMMARY:Buddha Amitabha Practice
DESCRIPTION:1st Sunday of the each month \nIn this practice one visualizes Amitabha and his retinue and recites his six syllable mantra. Through this practice we purify our obscurations and accumulate merit and wisdom while cultivating the causes for rebirth in Dewachen\, Amitabha’s pureland. \nThis is a traditional practice associated with death and dying in many Mahayana and Vajrayana buddhist traditions. \nDuring this event we will offer prayers and the lighting of candles for beings who have recently deceased and for all beings.

SUMMARY:Buddha Amitabha Practice
DESCRIPTION:In this practice one visualizes Amitabha and his retinue and recites his six  syllable mantra. Through this practice we purify our obscurations and accumulate merit and wisdom while cultivating the causes for rebirth in Dewachen\, Amitabha’s pureland. This is a traditional practice associated with death and dying in many Mahayana and Vajrayana buddhist traditions. \nDuring this event we will offer prayers and the lighting of candles for beings who have recently deceased and for all beings.
