Her unique appearance\, ornaments and implements symbolize various aspects of achieving the wisdom mind\, including cutting through afflictive emotions and discursive thoughts as we gain insight into our ultimate nature.   \nVajrayogini represents the wisdom nature of mind and she appears in many forms\, including Achi Chokyi Drolma\, our tradition’s protectress. Her practice is taught to be a quick method of attaining enlightenment for the benefit of others. Achi Chokyi Drolma is the protectoress of the Drikung Kagyu lineage and grandmother of its founder\, Lord Jigten Sumgon. Her birth was prophesized in the Chakrasamvara tantra which stated\, “The head of the Karma Dakinis will come to the area of Tidro cave in Drikung. To express our heartfelt appreciation\, gratitude and love for our center’s root teacher\, Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche will lead us in White Tara mantra recitation and practice each day. \nOur practices will be part of a broader initiative by the international sangha to honor the long-life of our precious\, masterful guide on the Buddhist path. This includes Garchen Institute’s Long-Life Ceremony the same weekend.
